Centre for Mental Health Opens in India - will be a Regional Hub for South Asia
The Centre for Mental Health has been started by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) in New Delhi. The centre will be a collaborative network of institutions in South Asia, with the shared goals of promoting research, building capacity and advocacy aimed at reducing inequalities in access to care and health outcomes.

President Signs Order to Improve Access to Mental Health for our Veterans and Troops
President Obama plans to sign an executive order today aimed at reducing the rate of suicide and mental health disorders in veterans and troops by improving access to behavioral health care.
The order directs cabinet agencies including the departments of Veterans Affairs, Defense and Health and Human Services and Education, to expand suicide prevention efforts, fill vacancies for mental health jobs and widen outreach to service members and veterans.

Mental Health Community (Online) Connects Activists and Practitioners Worldwide
This online community connects people working on mental health issues in Low and Middle-Income countries. It allows people to share information and experiences and to network with partners and colleagues all over the world. They welcome mental health workers, international aid workers, NGO activists, students and anyone who is interested. The organization is focused on Low and Middle-Income Countries joining the community and sharing information about their local projects and needs. There are already more than 200 members in the Online Mental Health Community and hopefully the number will be much growing in the future.
